In general:
A Social Project, by ZE.ZE community, which unites a group of street musicians and creates a unique orchestra musically produced by Tom Darom.
The project gives the musicians, of which many have suffered a hard integration phase in Israel, an opportunity to work as a team while fulfilling and exposing their talents, all in a stable job with a dignified salary. Moreover it aims to emphasizes the beautiful art surrounding our streets and introduce you the people behind it.
The Orchestra was formed in the beginning of 2012 succeeding among the various crowds which fills the concerts and the critics praising its story and the musical quality. The project concerts are produced by ZE.ZE community members and often host Israeli first row musicians such as: Berry Sacharof, Ehud Banai, Dani Sanderson and Carolina.
The repertoire:
The band has an up-tempo and joyful repertoire built with great attention to the individual musical worlds of each of the street musicians (Balkan, Greek, Israeli, South American, Kleyzmer etc.). It concludes known songs among original ones written by the orchestra members.
The story behind the project:
The story begins with a love to music. ZE.ZE community members realized how much joy they fill by hearing, every now and then while running through Tel Aviv streets during a busy day, a musician standing on the side of the pavement playing a pleasant melody. This music integrated within the decoration of the noise city streets, the people passing by and the smoking buses.
The community members decided they want to meet those musicians enriching our city soundtrack. They were interested in what reasons and circumstances of life lead those talented musicians to play in the street. What is their musical background and how they fill towards playing that way.
The answers amazed them. Most of the musicians told they made Aliyah to Israel (new immigrants) while leaving a dignified musical carriers in their origin countries (playing in various philharmonics or teaching in music academics). As immigrating at an elderly age not knowing the language so well, they had difficulty to find their place in the small Israeli music industry. The musicians decided that they would not give up on their profession and love- thus keep playing music anywhere possible.
ZE.ZE is a social organization enabling young people to work together in a unique and joyful manner for the society and themselves simultaneously.
The organization creates an active and involved community giving its members an opportunity to take part in social activities, matching their personal abilities and interests. From the community sustainable social projects are initiated emphasizing that social activism can simultaneously be fun and creative while not contradicting the personal development of the activist himself.

At first they felt great embarrassment playing in the street. But, slowly they were exposed to the beautiful aspects of it. It helped them to recognize the Israeli society and integrate in it. Moreover it gives them the artistic freedom to whatever music they prefer and even an opportunity to expose their own original materials.
After a while ZE.ZE members decided they want to create something unique with those musicians- forming a musical orchestra uniting the street
